Dub FX – So Underrated

I'm inspired. Dub FX's "Step on my trip" has just grabbed me from my comfortable couch seat and made me write this. This guy (Benjamin) I've never heard of but he is seriously Underrated.

According to last.fm:
"Dub Fx the street-loop-beatboxer grew up in St Kilda / Melbourne / Australia performing in various bands before hitting the world-wide road. Dub Fx uses Roland BOSS effect & loop pedals to create sounds which when layered creates a live musical construct. Predominantly Dub Fx can be found busking through Europe with his Girlfriend the ‘Flower Fairy’ who also performs along side."

However, thanks to viteker.ru, a Russian music site written in some rather interesting English, we get a better picture of his history. Apparently as a young vocalist he drove other bandmates nuts by tweaking the dials on effects pedals in practise, saying "Dub-boy that sounds like you're murdering a chipmunk!" (Hell, Kanye has made a career out of it!). Anyway he perfected the techniques obviously while cutting his teeth on the streets of Europe and now plays at festivals all over. Floating between the two voices of "MC Monsoon" and "The Little Man" while performing, his style is fresh and his sound as deep as similar loop acts such as Final Fantasy.

When he arrives back in Oz I will be jumping on this bandwagon for sure, as Dub FX has no deals with major labels and appears to be truly independent. So Underrated. Rate it as you please.
