Classical Music – or maybe just Nicola Benedetti
Posted by: Coxinator
If you think Classical music is sexy (well I do), then please come and give us the low-down of our fave composer, performer or orchestra. No, I don't want any Il Divo fans, but rather someone to tap into the best up 'n comers who we know very little about. But for now, the most underrated thing about Classical music is a Scottish babe called Nicola Benedetti.
Okay, I haven't got any of her music up here, but who needs tunes when your looks alone are smooth and composed beautifully.
Looking at an impressive CV that includes being pronounced BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2004, I've noticed she's a big fan of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. Methinks if Ms Benedetti had been around when he visited Edinburgh in 1829 he would have a tried the "Jenny Lind" move on her (you'll need to do your research to get that one). He would at least have taken her to a reputable establishment where Nicola no doubt would have drunk the poncy boy under the table (with Belhaven being the flavour of the brew of course), in true Scots-style.
Speaking of which, it's time to raise a tipple in respect to the fine lady and another fine Scottish product. Slainte Mhor!
